AFTER THE SERMON-TOGETHER-You Are Not Alone

We hope today’s message was encouraging and helpful. Take a moment to process and discuss what God may be trying to say to everyone in your home or in your community group. If no one is with you, have a personal conversation with God, He is with you.

Sermon Title: You Are Not Alone

Main Scripture: Acts 2:42-47

Other scriptures mentioned: John 1:11-13; Ephesians 2:19; 1 John 1:1-4; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 26-27; Romans 12:4-5; Mark 2:1-12

(If you’re going through this discussion with a community group this week consider taking the time to read or paraphrase through some of the provided scripture to catch everyone up!)

Overview:

This past Sunday Pastor Ryan began a new series entitled TOGETHER. We heard Pastor Ryan’s heart come out and really the Word of God as he showed us in scripture that we belong together, therefore we are not alone. The Bible showed us that there are three themes of community and togetherness in the Bible: The family of God, the fellowship of believers and the body of Christ. All three of those themes have multiple scriptures that point to how vital our relationship with one another truly is. We are living in a time where being together is difficult. We were challenged to make connections, stay connected, and intentionally be there for one another.

Takeaways:

You are not alone

We have a loving responsibility to be there for those on the journey with us

We will feel alone if we don’t make spiritual family time a priority

We need each other

We belong to the body of Christ Spiritually, but we need to feel it physically.

Discussion:

  • What was a big takeaway for you from this message?

  • Share a time where you were sharpened or encouraged because someone was there for you in the family of God…

  • How does it make you feel to be together with and needed by other believers? Why?

  • Pastor Ryan gave some practical tips to start getting together, what would you add?

  • What valuable, meaningful things do you want to do when you get together with other believers?

Pray:

Heavenly Father, thank you for welcoming us into the family of God. We see it as an honor to be a brother and sister to one another. Help us to see our spiritual family and express our love physically with our time, presence, and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

We hoped you found this AFTER THE SERMON discussion helpful for your walk with Jesus. We pray you can find ways to apply it this week!
