Partnership

At Calvary, "Partnership" is our version of what is traditionally called church membership. We believe that if you are attending Calvary, you belong in our fellowship and, therefore, are considered a member of the Calvary family. However, many people take attending and belonging a step further and formalize their relationship by becoming a Partner here at Calvary Church!

  • A Calvary Partner (card-holding member) is an all-in member of Calvary who is committed to worshiping God both inside and outside the church walls, growing together in Biblical fellowship, serving in ministry, and supporting Calvary through their giving. Partners are individuals who are passionate about taking responsibility and ownership for the health, growth, and impact of Calvary Church. Partners also get to vote during annual business meetings.

  • You can become a Partner in a few simple and flexible steps:

    1. Attend Starting Point to learn more about Calvary, the importance of following Jesus, how to serve our community, and how you can partner with us to reach others with the love of God.

    2. Submit the Partnership Application & Commitment Form when ready.

    3. Attend one of our Partner Interest Meetings (optional), where you will have the opportunity to:

    • Meet various members of Calvary’s ministry team and board

    • Learn more about the commitment between Partners and the church

    • Ask any questions you may have about Partnership at Calvary

  • We have intentionally chosen to use the term “partnership” because it aligns with God’s design that we partner in the gospel and be co-workers in ministry as stated in the following Scripture passages:

"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
    Philippians 1:3-6

“For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
    1 Corinthians 3:9

  • In our Constitution and By-Laws, we must define an “attendee” and “partner” for ecclesial responsibilities to conduct an annual business meeting and church board voting. Those who become Partners are given the right to vote on business matters of the church. However, if you decide not to be a partner, this does not mean you can’t be a part of our church family. We would love for you to continue to attend and be a part of the Calvary family!

  • No. However, we encourage spiritual growth in this area by creating an intentional plan to adjust your budget to reach a 10% tithe. We also encourage growth so you can practice generosity with offerings in and outside the church, above and beyond tithe. Tithing provides the financial means of the church which enables Calvary to fulfill its mission to make disciples. When we give, it is for the Lord. It is an act of obedience that honors God. If you need assistance to grow in this area we are available to help!

  • While some roles in the church require you to be a Partner, such as being a Board Member or Community Group Leader, there are plenty of serving opportunities available that do not have this requirement.

  • While you do have to be in agreement with Calvary’s purpose, beliefs, values, strategy, and structure, you do not have to agree with everything written in the Constitution & By-laws. If you have questions or concerns feel free to schedule an appointment with a staff member or Board Member for clarification.

  • If you are no longer able to fulfill the Partnership Commitment due to a change in circumstances, please reach out to church leadership! We want to pray with you, offer encouragement, and determine how we can walk alongside you as you continue to grow in your walk with Christ. Our goal is to extend grace and maintain unity among our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
