Water Baptism
“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”

Baptism is an outward public expression of an inward decision to follow Jesus. It is not the way to receive salvation, but it is the representation of our commitment to being a follower of Christ. When believers are baptized, they are submerged and brought out of water as a symbol of our old, selfish life being buried with Christ and resurrecting with Him into a new life! Baptism serves as a reminder that we have come into agreement with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It illustrates the death of our old sinful nature and our new life as children of God living in the light.

Yes! We will baptize any child over the age of 5 who demonstrates an understanding of what baptism represents and wants to make a public declaration of faith.
We encourage parents to make sure their child is comfortable with being baptized before registering. If the child shows signs of distress over being baptized, we will not force them to participate.

Baptism is largely an action taken after an intentional decision to follow Jesus. As a result, we believe it is important to be old enough to make your own personal confession of faith and do not do infant baptisms.
When we look in Scripture, we see Jesus getting baptized as an adult in Matthew 3:16-17. While we believe that you don’t need to be of adult age to get baptized, we find it crucial to be of an age where the decision can be made by the child alone.
While we may not do infant baptisms, we do find Child Dedications to be a beautiful way for parents to commit to raising their child in the ways of Jesus. If you are interested in dedications, you can contact our Admin Assistant to the Lead Pastor HERE.
