Water Baptism

“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
- Romans 6:3-4

Baptism is an outward public expression of an inward decision to follow Jesus. It is not the way to receive salvation, but it is the representation of our commitment to being a follower of Christ. When believers are baptized, they are submerged and brought out of water as a symbol of our old, selfish life being buried with Christ and resurrecting with Him into a new life!
